Queen Fabiola and King Baudouin caricatures

I remember when I was a schoolboy their state portrait hung on the wall in every classroom, very serious, black and white and old-fashioned. The king in a dull military uniform.
I have portrayed them more mundane here. And also older than in that official portrait.

Queen Fabiola and King Baudouin were the 5th Belgian royal couple. Originally I drew them separately. Each in its own frame.

I later enlarged the caricatures with a photocopier on transparent film and put some ecoline paint behind them to display at a local exhibition in my town...
Here behind a passe partout, but without their frame.

I pasted them together for my ArtStation Thumbnail here...

I have now further colored it with paint.net.

Many years later I drew King Baudouin again. This time commissioned by the Flemish children's newspaper 'KITS', as an elder,
weary king struggling to keep his pie together (his little country, which is in danger of falling apart into separate regions).
